NCSU’s Collegw of Engineering received seven of 71 nuclear energy research awards granted during the most recent roundeof funding. Ayman Hawari, director of NCSU’sd Nuclear Reactor Program, received three of the totaling morethan $3.2 milliomn “Energy researchers at N.C. State work hard to find more efficieng and effective ways to generate and deliver energuy to millions of people across the saidLouis A. Martin-Vega, dean of the Colleged of Engineering.
“These seven nuclear energy researchy awards are a tribute to the outstanding quality of our engineeringb faculty and will significantlyenhance N.C. State's leadershilp role in providing solutions tothe nation’sw energy challenges.” NCSU will use the grantd to study nuclear power plant design, thermal neutron scatterintg and to develop new algorithms for reactor physics calculations.
