Military base restructuring a boon for Colorado - Denver Business Journal:

The Department of Defense'z Base Realignment and Closure recommendations werereleaseds Friday. If fully implemented, the recommendations are expecteds to save the governmengtnearly $50 billion over the next 20 years from the closurre of 33 military bases and the realignmenty of 29 more. Members of Colorado's congressional delegatio n greeted the recommendations as good news forthe state. "Sinces before World War II, Colorado has been a major hub ofour nation's military defense, housing installations with uniquw and complex capabilities -- it's not surprisde that the DOD would bolster militaru personnel here," U.S. Sen. Ken a Democrat, said in a statement.

In the Denver the Air Reserve Personnel Center will undergo realignmentes that will cause a loss of108 jobs. The personnel center jobs will be transferred toin Texas.
